Critical cluster cascades

چکیده
Abstract We consider a sequence of Poisson cluster point processes on $\mathbb{R}^d$ : at step $n\in\mathbb{N}_0$ the construction, centers have intensity $c/(n+1)$ for some $c>0$ , and each consists particles branching random walk up to generation n —generated by process with mean 1. show that this ‘critical cascade’ converges weakly, either limit equals void (extinction), or it has same c as critical cascade (persistence). obtain persistence if only Palm version outgrown is locally almost surely finite. This result allows us give numerous examples persistent cascades.

Critical transitions in colliding cascades
We consider here the interaction of direct and inverse cascades in a hierarchical nonlinear system that is continuously loaded by external forces. The load is applied to the largest element and is transferred down the hierarchy to consecutively smaller elements, thereby forming a direct cascade. The elements of the system fail (i. e., break down) under the load. The smallest elements fail first...

متن کاملCluster Percolation and Thermal Critical Behaviour
Continuous phase transitions in spin systems can be formulated as percolation of suitably defined clusters. We review this equivalence and then discuss how in a similar way, the color deconfinement transition in SU(2) gauge theory can be treated as a percolation phenomenon. In the presence of an external field, spin systems cease to show thermal critical behavior, but the geometric percolation ...
متن کاملCLUSTER ALGEBRAS AND CLUSTER CATEGORIES
These are notes from introductory survey lectures given at the Institute for Studies in Theoretical Physics and Mathematics (IPM), Teheran, in 2008 and 2010. We present the definition and the fundamental properties of Fomin-Zelevinsky’s cluster algebras. Then, we introduce quiver representations and show how they can be used to construct cluster variables, which are the canonical generator...
متن کاملRumor Cascades
Online social networks provide a rich substrate for rumor propagation. Information received via friends tends to be trusted, and online social networks allow individuals to transmit information to many friends at once. By referencing known rumors from Snopes.com, a popular website documenting memes and urban legends, we track the propagation of thousands of rumors appearing on Facebook. From th...
